In the Nov. 25 men’s games, Cacia’s Bakery defeated Camilli Chiropractor, 12-2, and Chef’s Market, 12-1; Casa dei Pazzi beat Rudi’s Formal Wear, 12-2, and Chef’s Market, 12-2; Pine Nuts took the win over Rudi’s, 12-10; and Camilli defeated Pine Nuts, 12-9. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Cacia’s defeated Rudi’s, 12-9, and Casa, 12-8; Pine Nuts beat Casa, 12-3, and Chef’s Market, 12-2; Camilli took the win over Rudi’s, 12-10; and Chef’s Market defeated Camilli, 12-5. The women’s games were not held last Thursday due to Thanksgiving. The men’s league plays Tuesdays and the women’s league plays Thursdays starting at 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.
CAPITOLO MEN’S SOFTBALL
The Capitolo men’s softball league is accepting new teams for the 2004 season. Managers must call Louise, 215-685-1883, as soon as possible, as only a few openings remain. Managers of women’s modified teams also are invited to inquire.
GUERIN ACTIVITIES
Registration is being held for boys’ and girls’ indoor soccer for ages 12 and under at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets. Parents can register their children Monday-Friday, 3-8 p.m., or call 215-685-1894 to make an appointment. The $15 fee, which includes shirt and award, is due at signup. Registration also continues for boys’ basketball for ages 14 and under and 12 and under. The same fee applies.
MIDWEST BASEBALL ACADEMY
Lincoln University baseball, an NCAA Division III intercollegiate program, has teamed up with the Midwest Baseball Academy to host an instructional baseball camp for players in grades two through 12. The six-week national training program will take place at the university on Baltimore Pike in Lincoln University, Pa., on Jan. 4, 11 and 18 and Feb. 1, 15 and 22. The Lincoln-Midwest Baseball Academy camp will provide intensive instruction to participating youths in the areas of hitting and pitching at a cost of $95 per player. PHILADELPHIA RENEGADES
The Philadelphia Renegades, a semi-pro squad, won the 2003 Tony Holmes Invitational Tournament at Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 17th and Fitzwater streets. The Renegades beat Watkins Enterprises of New Jersey 58-43 in the title game. The team has won three straight championships as part of a 36-game winning streak.
POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL
The Point Breeze Civic Association is registering boys and girls for its winter basketball league. Signups for boys ages 9-12 are held Wednesdays; boys 14-16, Thursdays.
