BOCCE LEAGUES

In last Thursday’s women’s games of the South Philadelphia Bocce League, Southern Auto defeated City Pizza, 12-8, and Mazza Bros., 12-4; Mazza beat PFC, 12-9; and City Pizza took the win over PFC, 12-9. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Camilli Chiropractic defeated Pine Nuts, 12-11, and Casa dei Pazzi, 12-11; Rudi’s Formal Wear beat Casa, 12-9; Chef’s Market took the win over Rudi’s, 12-9, and Cacia’s Bakery, 12-0; and Pine Nuts defeated Cacia’s, 12-0. Men’s games are played Tuesdays and women’s games are played Thursdays starting 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.

CAPITOLO PLAYGROUND

The Capitolo men’s softball league is accepting new teams for the 2004 season. Managers must call Louise, 215-685-1883, as soon as possible, as only a few openings remain. Managers of women’s modified teams also are invited to inquire. In addition, the playground is holding registration for its 12-and-under basketball league. Call Greg, 215-685-1883.

EOM BIDDY HOCKEY

The league is accepting registration for biddy hockey for ages 4-7. The cost is $25 and games will be played every Saturday through Feb. 14. No equipment is needed. Stop by the EOM office, Front and Moore streets, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. or call Erin, 215-271-1994.

GUERIN ACTIVITIES

Registration is being held for boys’ and girls’ indoor soccer for ages 12 and under at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets. Parents can register their children Monday-Friday, 3-8 p.m., or call 215-685-1894 to make an appointment. The $15 fee, which includes shirt and award, is due at signup. Registration also continues for boys’ basketball for ages 14 and under and 12 and under. The same fee applies.

JIMMY WILSON BASKETBALL

JOE FORTUNA BASEBALL/TEE-BALL

Signups are being held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Murphy Rec Center, Third and Shunk streets, for the spring baseball and tee-ball league for ages 4-19. POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL

The Point Breeze Civic Association is registering boys and girls for its winter basketball league. Signups for boys ages 9-12 are held Wednesdays; boys 14-16, Thursdays. A girls’ basketball league is forming for ages 11-14. The PBCA seeks teams to participate. Registration is at Vare Middle School, 24th Street and Snyder Avenue, from 6:30-9 p.m. Call 215-755-6628.

SABRES BASEBALL

Registration will begin Monday and continue every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. through April at Sixth Street and Packer Avenue. The age divisions are 4-6 (tee-ball), 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 and 16-19. The cost is $50 for tee-ball and $85 for all other divisions. All teams are welcome. SEYAA BASEBALL/TEE-BALL

Baseball and tee-ball registration is underway. The season will begin April 24. The age divisions are 4-6 (tee-ball), 7-8 (pitching machine), 8-10 and 10-12 (live pitch), and 13-15 and 16-19 (Babe Ruth). The cost is $60 for tee-ball and $70 for all other divisions. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. SHOT TOWER BASKETBALL

In the opener, the Kings overpowered the Sixers, 20-16. Declan Basile, Ryan Coney and Tom Swerko led the Kings’ offense with six points apiece, while Drake Lee (8), Isabella Brilliant (4) and Brittany Dalin (4) hustled for the Sixers. In the nightcap, the Celtics rallied by the Nets, 20-18. Liam Dougherty and Billey Brown led the victors with six points apiece, while Brighid Kelly added four. Maureen Fiocca, Aaron Cohen and Mike Connell led the Nets with four points each.

SOUTH PHILLY ARC SOFTBALL

SUNDAY SOFTBALL
