BOCCE LEAGUES

Last Thursday’s women’s games of the South Philadelphia Bocce League were not held due to the holiday. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Pine Nuts defeated Chef’s Market, 12-8, and Rudi’s Formal Wear, 12-11; Cacia’s Bakery beat Casa dei Pazzi, 12-6; Camilli Chiropractic took the win over Cacia’s, 12-10; Chef’s Market defeated Casa, 12-7; and Rudi’s beat Camilli, 12-8. Cacia’s ended the regular season in first place. Men’s playoffs will be held Tuesday starting 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.


CAPITOLO WOMEN’S SOFTBALL

DVYAA BASEBALL

The association is accepting registration for its spring baseball programs weeknights, 6-8, and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets. Age groups are 5-7 (tee-ball), 8-9 (peewee), 10-12 (majors) and 13-15 (seniors). Call 215-468-1265.


FLAMES ROLLER HOCKEY

GOLDEN GLOVES FINALS

The Pennsylvania Golden Gloves Eastern Regional finals will be held tomorrow night at the New Alhambra (formerly Viking Hall), Swanson and Ritner streets. Thirteen bouts are scheduled; all weight classes will be represented. Over the past five years, the Philadelphia tournament has produced seven national champions. JOE FORTUNA BASEBALL/TEE-BALL

Signups are being held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Murphy Rec Center, Third and Shunk streets, for the spring baseball and tee-ball league for ages 4-19. SABRES BASEBALL

Registration is being held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. through this month at Sixth Street and Packer Avenue. The age divisions are 4-6 (tee-ball), 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 and 16-19. The cost is $50 for tee-ball and $85 for all other divisions. All teams are welcome. Baseball and tee-ball registration is underway. The season will begin April 24. SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Special Olympics Philadelphia is in serious need of volunteer coaches for basketball, tennis, swimming, softball, golf and other sports. No formal coaching experience is necessary. All that is needed is knowledge of the sport and the desire to train adults and/or children with mental retardation.
