BOCCE LEAGUES

In last Thursday’s women’s playoff games of the South Philadelphia Bocce League, Southern Auto defeated PFC, 12-5 and 12-10, and City Pizza beat Mazza Bros., 12-6 and 12-10 (Mazza won one round, 12-10). Southern will play City for the finals tonight. In Tuesday’s men’s semi-finals, Pine Nuts defeated Camilli Chiropractic, 12-6 and 12-3, and Cacia’s Bakery beat Rudi’s Formal Wear, 12-8 and 12-5. Pine Nuts will play Cacia’s for the championship on Tuesday. Games start 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.


EOM TEE-BALL

EOM, Front and Moore streets, is holding tee-ball registration for ages 4-7. Games will be played Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. starting next week through June 1. Registration fee is $25. Call Erin, 7 a.m.-2 p.m., or Christi, 2-6 p.m., at 215-271-1994.


FLAMES ROLLER HOCKEY

KOPLOVE RETURNS

Mike Koplove, originally of 19th and Shunk streets, and his Arizona Diamondbacks will play their only series this season at Citizens Bank Park over the weekend. The right-handed reliever is 2-1 with a 6.75 ERA. Koplove, 27, picked up the win in Saturday’s 5-2 victory over the San Diego Padres. He pitched one-and-two-thirds innings and had only one player reach base via a walk. The pitcher returned to action this spring after having arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder in September. For his career, Koplove has appeared in 108 games and tallied an 11-3 record.


MURPHY BASKETBALL

Murphy Recreation Center, Third and Shunk streets, is hosting an instructional girls’ basketball camp from June 21-25. The camp runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and is open to all 10-12-year-old girls. The one-week camp costs $25 and includes a T-shirt. Lunch will be provided daily. Call 215-685-1874.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Special Olympics Philadelphia is in serious need of volunteer coaches for basketball, tennis, swimming, softball, golf and other sports. No formal coaching experience is necessary. All that is needed is knowledge of the sport and the desire to train adults and/or children with mental retardation. Athletes will train a minimum of eight weeks prior to competitions. URBAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION

The Urban Youth Association basketball all-stars will face the North Philly all-stars Saturday, 11 a.m., at Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 17th and Fitzwater streets. Also, the UYA volunteers will square off against the members of Power 99 FM. All UYA participants must wear shirts. Celebrity guests will be on hand.
