ALL-CITY CLASSIC

The Philadelphia U.S.A. basketball program will hold its 10th annual Stay in School Adidas All-City Classic on June 5 at La Salle University. Tip-off for the first game is at 1 p.m. The top freshmen, sophomores and juniors from the Philadelphia Public and Catholic leagues will participate. Philly U.S.A. was formed to develop fellowship among athletes who have high grades and good attendance. Past participants include Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Miami Heat forward and South Philadelphia native Rasual Butler and National College Player of the Year Jameer Nelson. EOM TEE-BALL

GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 21st annual St. Gabriel Parish golf tournament will take place Saturday at FDR Golf Course with a 10 a.m. modified shotgun start. The event will feature a four-man best ball format. The cost is $85 and includes green fees, cart, buffet, awards and gifts. Proceeds will benefit the Christopher Brinkman memorial scholarship, Our Lady of Angels football program, the St. Gabriel gym fund and the St. Gabriel Irish Society scholarship fund. MILLAY CLUB GOLF OUTING

The Southeast Catholic-Bishop Neumann Vietnam Vets will hold a golf outing in memory of alum Jim "Daddy Wags" Wagner (’63) at the Island Green Country Club on Monday with a 2 p.m. shotgun start. NOBLES’ NEXT FIGHT

Gerald "The Jedi" Nobles, originally of 19th and Kaufman streets, will step into the ring Saturday night against former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon on the undercard of the Roy Jones Jr.-Antonio Tarver light heavyweight championship bout from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Nobles (22-0, 17 KOs) is currently ranked 13th in the heavyweight division by the North American Boxing Federation.


OSTROWSKI UPDATE

St. Maria Goretti senior Janae Ostrowski will continue playing basketball for Division III Widener University. The Lambs’ defensive leader broke her Catholic League record with 124 blocked shots this season. She set the previous mark of 108 during her junior year. The local athlete closed out her high-school career with a triple-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a win over West Catholic. The contributions helped Goretti finish the season 15-9, its best record in almost two decades. Ostrowski, who won the Catholic League’s Student-Athlete Award in March, plans to major in criminology in hopes of becoming an FBI agent.


POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL

The Point Breeze Universal Basketball League is seeking teams, players and coaches for its upcoming summer league. The boys’ divisions are 19 and under, 16 and under and 13 and under. Call Kenyatta Bey, 215-718-7669, before May 30.


SPNAL SUMMER PROGRAMS

Orientation for the South Philadelphia Neighborhood Athletic League will be held June 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Vare Recreation Center, 26th and Moore streets. The program is for youths ages 9-14. WEEKEND OF PEACE

Paul "Earthquake" Moore will hold his "Let Books Rule, Keep Guns Out of School Weekend of Peace" Saturday and Sunday. A basketball game at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 7001 Woodland Ave., will be held Saturday, and the following day a motorcycle run on Broad Street will begin at 11 a.m. The route begins at Citizens Bank Park, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, and ends at Broad and Olney.
