AAU GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Next Level Basketball Inc. is holding girls’ Amateur Athletic Union tryouts this Sunday and next at Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High, 10th and Moore streets. Tryouts for ages 13-14 will be held noon-2 p.m., ages 11-12 from 2-4 p.m. and 10-year-olds from 4-6 p.m. Registration fee is $25 and parents must attend. Call Carol Haynes, 215-760-6600.

BOCCE LEAGUES
The South Philadelphia Men’s and Women’s Bocce Leagues play Tuesdays and Thursdays at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets, starting 7:30 p.m. In last Thursday’s women’s games, City Pizza defeated Southern Auto, 12-10, and Mazza Bros., 12-7; Mazza beat PFC, 12-9; and Southern took the win over PFC, 12-4. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Maglio Sausage defeated Chef’s Market, 12-5, and Pine Nuts, 12-11; Pine Nuts beat Camilli Chiropractic, 12-5; Camilli took the win over Casa dei Pazzi, 12-8; Casa defeated Rudi’s Formal Wear, 12-8; and Chef’s Market beat Rudi’s, 12-6.

DVYAA BASEBALL
DVYAA is holding registration for its spring baseball program weeknights from 6:30-8 and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets. Age groups are 5-7 (tee-ball), 8-9 (peewee), 10-12 (majors) and 13-15 (seniors). Call 215-568-1265 or visit www.eteamz.com/dvyaa.org.

EASTWICK REDSKINS FOOTBALL

GOLF BENEFIT
On May 13, Philadelphia Daily News staffers and friends will honor late sports editor Caesar Alsop by hosting the Friends of Caesar Memorial Golf Outing, with proceeds to benefit the college education of Caesar’s son, Brandon. A noon lunch will precede a shotgun scramble, followed by a dinner buffet (one-hour open bar). A silent auction of sports items also will be held. GUERIN BASKETBALL
Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets, is holding registration for its 13-and-under after-school basketball league. Games will be played at 4 and 5 p.m. starting March 24. The $20 registration fee is due at signup and includes a T-shirt, award and pizza party. Call Pete, 215-685-1894.

JOE FORTUNA BASEBALL
Registration for the spring baseball and tee-ball league is held Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m., at Murphy Recreation Center, Third and Shunk streets. The fee, which includes uniforms, trophies and a banquet, is $35 for ages 4-7, $40 for 7-15 and $70 for 16-19.

NEUMANN-GORETTI GOLF OUTING

SABRES BASEBALL
Registration is being held Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Sabres office, Seventh Street and Packer Avenue. The Sabres offer programs for boys and girls ages 4-19. Registration fee is $50 for tee-ball (ages 4-6) and $85 for ages 7-19. Call 215-462-4999 or 215-651-3411.

SEYAA SPORTS
SEYAA is holding registration for its tee-ball/baseball programs Tuesday and Friday evenings at Thomas Middle School, Ninth and Johnston streets, in the third-floor gym. Divisions are 4-6 (coed tee-ball), 7-8 (pitching machine), 8-10 and 10-12 (live pitch), and 13-15 and 16-19 (Babe Ruth baseball). Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Softball registration also is underway for girls ages 10-12 Tuesday and Friday evenings at Thomas. The season will run April 17-June 19. All games will be played Sundays at the SEYAA sports complex, Seventh and Bigler streets. Call 215-463-8802 or visit www.seyaa.com.

STANKIEWICZ TOP BOWLER
Neumann-Goretti freshman Gina Stankiewicz took top honors in Sunday’s All-Catholic competition, which featured the Catholic League’s top bowlers. The All-Catholic selection, who wasn’t even in the top five after two games, advanced to the semifinals with a 208 in the third game for a 566 series. Only the top three bowlers advanced to the semifinals. Stankiewicz finished strong with 193 in the semifinals and a 199 in the finals to win the competition.

Saints coach Terry Spina is counting on the freshman to lead Neumann-Goretti to future success. "She is a great team player, and I am looking forward to having another three years with her."

TOLENTINE INDOOR SOCCER
The Tolentine indoor soccer league for ages 6-9 will hold registration March 29. The $30 fee includes T-shirt and trophy. Games will be played Tuesday evenings from April 5-May 17. Basketball leagues also are forming. Call Deana, 215-389-0717.
