The South Philadelphia Strikers boys’ soccer team captured the under-12 division championship at the 40th Annual Philadelphia Youth Soccer Classic over Memorial Day weekend. The Strikers posted a 3-0-1 tournament record, which includes a 7-1 win over the Parkwood Force in the title game. Arianne Townson led the way with four goals, while Joe Hatton, Mark Casasanto and Ryan Coney added a goal apiece. Defensively, Chazz Franchine, AJ Townson, Joe Napoli, Juan Cora and Bria Canady helped limit Parkwood to two shots on goal.

In the May 25 edition, it was noted Demi Ferrara and Karla Masciotro scored goals for the Strikers under-11 travel team, Julianna Casasanto scored the goal, not Masciotro.
