CELEBRITY TURKEY RUN

The annual Celebrity Turkey Run will be held Nov. 17 starting at 11 a.m. on the south side of Broad Street and ending at the Wachovia Center, Broad and Pattison Avenue.

The goal is to raise 1,000 turkey dinners for residents of Philadelphia and Delaware counties. Each person who runs must bring a turkey. Anyone unable to run may still participate by bringing a monetary donation or turkey to Broad Street the day of the race or in advance to the New Fellowship Baptist Church, 70th Street and Woodland Avenue. DAULTON RETURNS

Former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton will make a special appearance as a celebrity server to benefit the SaVes4ALS program, held at McFadden’s at Citizens Bank Park Tuesday. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

Daulton will be joined by 1993 teammate Mitch Williams to meet and talk with fans. Tickets for the event, which is open to the public, are $25 a person, and include an autographed copy of Daulton’s new book, "If They Only Knew." There also will be a silent auction for autographed items.

GUERIN REC CENTER

SEYAA WINTER SPORTS

SEYAA is holding registrations for winter basketball and indoor soccer. The basketball program begins Jan. 7. The age divisions are: 4 to 6 for biddy basketball; 7 to 8; 9 to 10; and 11 to 13. Register at the sports complex, Seventh and Bigler streets, 6 to 8 p.m. weeknights and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

The indoor soccer program for ages 4 to 7 begins Jan. 12. Games will be played Saturday mornings at Taggart School, Fifth and Porter streets. Register at the sports complex 6 to 8 p.m. weeknights or 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Fee is $20.

SHOT TOWER SOCCER

In the opening contest, the Blitz defeated the Rockers, 4-3. Claire McKenna, Joey McKenna and Mike Malseed led the Blitz offense, while Ryan Connell, Julio Bartello and Billy Stagliano hustled for the Rockers.

In the second game, the Shockers defeated the Wave, 3-2. Franny Kelly, William McDonald and Derrick Williams netted goals for the Shockers, while Quinton Diantonio, Mac Soulsby and Jake McHugh were a force on offense for the Wave.
