Game days

The Prep Charter Huskies football team sampled its first taste of victory under the Bigler Street lights Friday night following a 28-6 score over Esperanza. Quarterback Shelton Jones completed touchdown passes to Robert Volio and Charles Barber, who rushed for another score. Bryan Tate also found the end zone for the home team. The Huskies are 1-1 overall, and travel to Bristol for a Friday evening match.

The Bok Wildcats improved to 2-0 following last week’s 20-6 win over Dobbins. Al-Hajj Shabazz rushed for two scores, while Ray Tucker tallied one of his own.

On the Catholic League scene, the Neumann-Goretti Saints head into week three still seeking their first victory and points of the season. The squad is coming off a 35-0 defeat to Wyomissing. Tomorrow, they will try to get things back on track against Bishop McDevitt at 6:30 p.m. at Germantown.
