DVYAA TOUCH FOOTBALL

DVYAA is accepting registration for its touch football program 6:30 to 8:30 weeknights and 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays and Sundays at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets, for ages 6 to 8; 9 to 11; and 12 to 14. Call 215-468-1265.


GUERIN FALL SPORTS

Guerin Rec Center, 15th and Jackson streets, is accepting registration for coed soccer for ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. Fee is $20 and includes shirt and awards.

Coed flag football for ages 11 to 13 is Thursday evenings. Registration is $30.

NEUMANN-GORETTI SOCCER

Neumann-Goretti hosts Soccer Alumni Day Oct. 18 at SEYAA, Seventh and Bigler streets, following a doubleheader against Kennedy-Kendrick. The girls’ game starts at 10 a.m. with the boys playing at about noon.

The Saints girls’ soccer team opened the week in second place in the Blue Division 6-1-1, with four games remaining. One point separates the squad and Cardinal Dougherty, with the two meeting Oct. 16. The Saints took their first match, 2-1.


OPERATION CLEAN START

Volunteers are being sought for Operation Clean Start, which is revitalizing the city’s recreation facilities by sending staff and volunteers to a center for several days, during that time the facility will operate at limited capacity. Operation Clean Start comes to Murphy, Fourth and Shunk streets; Vare, 2600 Morris St.; and Guerin, 2601 S. 16th St., Oct. 11.

QUICKSTART TENNIS

Quickstart tennis is at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets, for ages 6 to 12 starting Oct. 14. Equipment, court dimensions and scoring are tailored to children.

The South Philly Cobras 14-and-under baseball team is looking for players for the winter and spring. The squad will play in an indoor winter league in South Jersey with tournament participation in 2009 while also playing in a competitive league in South Jersey.
