EOM BIDDY HOCKEY

Registration for biddy hockey at EOM, Front and Moore streets, for ages 3 to 7 is $30 and includes uniform, five weeks of lessons/games and a trophy. No equipment is needed. Games will be played indoors Saturday mornings. Call 215-271-1994.


MTAGWA UPDATE

South Philadelphia’s Rogers "The Tiger" Mtagwa scored a 10th-round knockout over Tomas Villa Friday night in Tucson, Ariz., to win the vacant International Boxing Association featherweight title. Mtagwa, who improved to 24-12-2, 18 KOs, went down in round nine, but made a strong recovery, dropping his opponent three times in the 10th.


PHILADELPHIA MARATHON VOLUNTEERS

The Philadelphia Marathon is seeking volunteers age 16 and older for pre-race and race-day activities. The event is 7 a.m. Nov. 23, but people are needed for the Philadelphia Marathon weekend, which starts Nov. 21 and includes the Health & Fitness Expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch streets. Race-day volunteers are needed at the start line.

POINT BREEZE BASKETBALL

Registration for the Point Breeze Civic Association’s basketball leagues are at Vare Middle School, 24th Street and Synder Avenue, 6:15 p.m. Mondays for ages 10 to 13 and 10 a.m. Saturdays for ages 6 to 9 and 14 to 16. RIZZO RINK HOCKEY

SEYAA WINTER SPORTS

Registration for SEYAA basketball and indoor soccer are under way at Seventh and Bigler streets from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays or request a registration packet at seyaasports@aol.com. Age divisions are 4 to 6 (biddy basketball); 7 to 8; and 9 to 10.

Indoor soccer is for ages 4 to 7. All games are played at Taggart School, Fifth and Porter streets, from January through March. Practices begin Dec. 1. Call 215-463-8802.


SOUTH PHILLY COBRAS

The South Philly Cobras 14-and-under baseball team is looking for players for the winter and spring. The squad will play in an indoor winter league in South Jersey with tournament participation in 2009 while also playing in a competitive league in South Jersey.
