A manager and two other employees of a Pennsport burger joint were forced in the freezer after two armed robbers ran off with more than $2,000 last week.

As employees were getting ready to close at 11:45 p.m., the manager saw an unknown armed man push one of his employees into his office, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man pointed his black semi-automatic handgun at the manager’s head and told him to instruct the employee to open the safe. The manager obliged. The offender took about $1,000 from the safe and swiped another $1,030 from the till on the manager’s desk, Tolliver said.

A second offender armed with a knife shoved another employee into the office, Tolliver said. Before fleeing, the duo pushed the employees into the freezerwhere an employee phoned police. No one was injured.

The men were described as black, age 18 to 20, stocky and wearing white hoodies with the hoods up and blue jeans. The man armed with the gun was 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 and was wearing a white cloth over his face and black football gloves. The man armed with a knife was 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2 and wearing black mask over his face.
