A landlord seeking payment from a tenant at a Point Breeze property last week told police he instead had a gun pointed at his face.

At 4:45 p.m. Aug. 18, two men, ages 50 and 55 — the latter being the landlord — went to the property on the 1200 block of South 21st Street to see Jarret Frink, 27, to ask about four weeks back rent, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The two knocked on the apartment door and Frink allegedly told the landlord he was unemployed at the time, but would find the money.

Frink then allegedly retrieved a black Smith & Wesson revolver with a brown handle from a cabinet, waved it around and pointed it at the property owner, saying, “Do you want me to start robbing people? Get the f*** out of here,” Tolliver said. The 50-year-old called police and Frink identified himself as the offender upon their arrival, Tolliver said. Police recovered the loaded gun.

Frink was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.
