Narcotics Field Unit officers in an unmarked vehicle spotted multiple shots being fired in Grays Ferry and arrested the Hawthorne teen they say is responsible.

Officers driving west on the 2700 block of Reed Street reported seeing the 16-year-old from the 700 block of Fawn Street pull a small black revolver from his waistband and fire at an unknown man at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 19, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. After a brief car and foot chase, police arrested the teen on the 2700 block of Dickinson Street, Tolliver said.

The unknown man was not located nor was the weapon, which police believe was dropped during their pursuit, but a 32-year-old woman received a graze wound to the back of the neck about a block away at Newkirk and Reed streets, Tolliver said. She did not seek medical treatment.

The teen was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime.
