A man suffered a broken bone when a bullet struck his leg in Newbold last week.
A 23- and 25-year-old were sitting on a stoop on the 1200 block of South 16th Street 2 a.m. Sept. 7 when an unknown person fired several shots, striking the older man once in his left leg, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
Police transported him to Jefferson Hospital in stable condition, where he had surgery five hours later, Tolliver said.
Ballistics evidence was recovered at the scene.
