Cause of death determined

The case of a man who died in his Point Breeze home last week has now been ruled a homicide.

Michael Lee, 31, of the 1800 block of Manton Street, was found inside a second-floor bedroom at 9:31 p.m. Oct. 11 with a pillowcase wrapped around his neck, Officer Christine O’Brien of Police Public Affairs said.

He was pronounced dead at 12 minutes later at the scene, O’Brien said. The cause of death has now been deemed ligature strangulation.

Lee, a transgender woman who went by “Stacey” is believed to have lived in the home with a live-in boyfriend, according to published reports.

There was no motive or suspect as of press time.
