After a verbal exchange at a Pennsport traffic signal, a mother and daughter suffered a broken windshield to the former’s automobile Sunday.

While traveling eastbound in a 2006 Hyundai on the 400 block of Dickinson Street, a 40-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter became involved in a verbal spat with the driver of a ’04 Dodge Neon following the mother’s beeping at the Neon’s driver after the light had changed green at 3:30 p.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Both parties continued eastbound on Dickinson, but the man stopped his vehicle on the 100 block of Dickinson. Picking up a brick, he ran back one block west to find the other vehicle stopped at a stop sign and threw the brick at the windshield, causing it to break. The daughter was struck in the face and eye by broken glass.

Following the suspect to New Jersey, the mother lost him on I-292 at the Trenton exit, Tolliver said. The teen received treatment at Methodist Hospital.

The suspect was described as white, in his late 20s, 5-foot-10, thin and driving an ’04 black Dodge Neon with New Jersey tags.
