The FBI and police are working to identify the offender in the dual robberies that occurred New Year’s Eve and today in which the suspect presented a teller with a threatening note and fled from the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, FBI spokesman J.J. Klaver said noting that it is believed that the man may have been armed.

The first heist occurred at Sovereign Bank, 2701 S, 10th St. 1 p.m. Friday and it is believed that the same man struck again 11 a.m. today at TruMark Financial Credit Union, 1931 S. Broad St., Klaver said.

The man was described as black, in his 40s, 6 foot with a medium build and clean-shaven. He was donning a black Phillies baseball cap and a dark hoody over a brown heavy coat in the first robbery while he was wearing a dark-colored knit ski cap and dark-colored heavy jacket during the second crime.
