A takeout deliveryman successfully delivered an order to an East Passyunk dwelling, but was robbed in the few steps he took from the doorstep to his vehicle.

On the 1900 block of South Ninth Street at 11:19 p.m. Monday, an unknown man approached him as he returned to his automobile in front of the residence and said, “you and the people you just delivered to got beef with my boy,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

The employee from Southside Pizza, 740 Mifflin St., did not know what he was referring to and tried to get in his car, but the man pulled a black .38 revolver from his jacket pocket, pointed it at his chest and said, “I want all your money,” Tolliver said. The man handed him the $46 he received from the delivery. The offender pushed the victim’s face down against his car, pointed the gun at his back and said, “I know you got some more money.” After insisting he did not have anything else, the offender searched his pockets and car for any cash. He came up empty-handed, and told the employee, “I was about to bust a cap in your ass. I ought to kill you” and walked away.

The suspect was described as black with a dark complexion, age 20 to 24, 6 foot to 6-foot-2, 220 to 240 pounds, clean-shaven, having a deep voice and was wearing a black leather jacket, gray hoody, black sweatpants with a white strip on the side and black sneakers.
