A West Passyunk man was beaten with a stick after a dispute over loud music last week.

At 2:49 a.m. Feb. 9 on the 2000 block of South 22nd Street, a 33-year-old answered his door when Gloan Nguyen, 40, allegedly smacked him with a stick numerous times on the head causing cuts, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

The man called police, who arrested and charged Nguyen with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person. Police recovered the stick allegedly used in the attack, Tolliver said.

The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital where he received a CAT scan and was not available to talk to police during treatment.
