Local park awarded grant

The PECO Green Region Project announced that the Catharine Street Park, 22nd and Catharine streets, was awarded a $10,000 grant earlier this month. The pocket park is the project of the South of South Neighborhood Association and is one of four projects in the Philadelphia area to receive a portion of the funds.

The initiative to provides grants for projects dedicated to open space preservation, improvement to parks and recreation resources. The program has dedicated $150,000 in grants to an array of green projects in the area. SPR
