A trio robbed and assaulted a man passing through South of South for his iPhone.
On the way home, a 25-year-old heard someone screaming at him while he was on the 1900 block of Webster Street at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26, Detective Tamika Selden of South Detective Division said. As he turned, he was whacked on the back of the head with an unknown object. Three men then pushed him to the ground and grabbed his black iPhone and wallet from his back pocket before fleeing east on Webster and south on 19th Street.
The man was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
