Unknown thieves passed through two South of South businesses to burglarize a third of $150,000 in jewelry.

Police responded to 1601 Washington Ave. 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26 for a burglary, Detective Tamika Selden of South Detective Division said. There, officers discovered a hole in the second-floor roof of U.S. Nails and Beauty Supplies and another through the floor, which led to Nam Son, a Vietnamese restaurant. A hole was cut through a joint wall between the eatery and GBA Jewelry’s secure room that housed its safe. The perpetrator or perpetrators then cut through the safe and snagged a variety of non-distinct gold and diamond jewelry.
