A Northeast Philly man was arrested for an attempted murder, but now is awaiting murder charges after his alleged victim died from a gunshot wound Sunday.

Kyle Carter, 25, of the 600 block of Rosalie Street, allegedly was arguing with Erik Thompson Brock, 26, of the 1600 block of North 59th Street in West Philly, outside of Club Onyx, 2908 S. Columbus Blvd., when he pulled out a firearm at 2:11 a.m. Feb. 23, according to the Police Public Affairs Unit. He is believed to have shot Brock in the neck before fleeing in a large white or silver SUV.

Brock was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Public Affairs Unit.

Carter turned himself in at South Detective Division, 2301 S. 24th St., 10 a.m. Friday, police said. He was charged with attempted murder, which had not been upgraded to murder at press time, aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.
