Two men hopped from an auto and robbed a man in Grays Ferry before returning to their wheels Sunday afternoon.

A 23-year-old was at 27th and Reed streets when two men exited a black vehicle at 3:19 p.m. and smacked him in the face with a silver handgun before grabbing his cell phone and wallet, which contained $50 and credit cards. The assailants returned to the car and fled in an unknown direction.

A medic transported the man to HUP where he was treated for head and facial injuries.

Police did not provide a description of the attackers by press time.
