Police released surveillance video of a Girard Estate robbery in hopes of identifying a suspect last week.

The robber walked inside Dollar Tree, 2437 S. 23rd St., at 9 p.m. Aug. 29 and headed to the rear of the store where he held a gun to the employee’s head and ordered the worker to open the safe, police said. He fled through a rear door with an undetermined amount of cash and ran in an unknown direction.

The robber was described as black, age 25, 6 foot, thin, having a goatee and wearing a gray hoodie with a small Nike logo on the chest, blue jeans with a possible bird pattern on the back pockets and a red Phillies cap.
