A Lower Moyamensing home invasion left a resident minus $12,000 last week.

The property owner told authorities that at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 26, he heard a knock on the door of his abode on the 2500 block of South Jessup Street and glimpsed outside to see a man holding a package, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When he opened the door, the complainant soon found himself under attack, as the package-bearing individual and another figure, whom he believed to be a woman, knocked him to the ground, smashed his face into the floor and started to tie him up with rope.

The second offender eventually went to the second floor for an instant, with the first demanding that the victim not look up, Tolliver said, and the two fleeing soon after. The intruders were clad in dark clothing and wore black ski masks, leading the complainant’s being able only to presume the second was a woman. Sustaining minor injuries to his face, the homeowner also reported the aforementioned sum missing.
