A covetous individual struck another male in Point Breeze Monday.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., police arrived on the 1600 block of Reed Street and learned from the complainant that while he was inside Lian Hsing Restaurant, 1633 Reed St., he had to deal with the aggressive advances of an unknown youth, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Refusing to give the stranger any money despite hearing he had a gun, the victim went about his business and paid for his food once the teen vacated.

Walking home, the complainant again encountered the individual at 17th and Reed streets and rebuffed his money demands. Denying him a second time, he soon suffered several punches in the back before his attacker fled in an undetermined direction. The complainant, Tolliver said, noticed no gun, reported nothing taken and sustained minor bruising to the left side of his back. He described the escapee as black, 16 to 18 years old, 5-foot-6; having a thin build and a scar on his left shoulder; and wearing a white tank top and dark jean shorts.
