At 3:36 a.m. July 2, authorities learned of robbery-by-gun matters on the 2200 block of Tasker Street and the 2500 block of Wharton Street. In the former, the complainant told them two cyclists approached him, with one pressing a gun to the back of his head and threatening “Don’t move, or I’ll blow your brains out,” Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The reported aggressor’s supposed accomplice then removed his wallet and black Verizon Droid cell phone from his pockets, with the two allegedly using their rides to flee westbound on Tasker Street.

In the other incident, the victims were walking on 26th Street when cyclists accosted them. They contend one pointed a silver gun at them and the second pillaged their pockets, with the first complainant parting with a black Boost cell phone and the other losing the same item, $4 and a lighter. The defendants fled southbound on 25th Street, Tolliver said, with law enforcement figures using flash information and positive identification by the victims to detain 26-year-old Sean Cannady, of the 1500 block of South Newkirk Street, and 19-year-old Jalil Welton, also known as Brandon Cannady, of North Philly, on the 1300 block of South 23rd Street.
