Police are looking for leads in solving a display of gunfire that struck an ice cream truck in West Passyunk.

Responding to a report of gunshots on the 2300 block of Bambrey Terrace at 8:50 p.m. Monday, law enforcement agents discovered ballistics evidence on the street and encountered the operator/owner of an ice cream truck, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The complainant told them that as he drove through the area, an unknown person or persons began shooting, with a bullet striking the front bumper of his vehicle.

A 2005 Chevy Cobalt, parked unattended on the block, suffered one shot to its hood, also, Tolliver said. Police reported no injuries and have not located any witnesses.
