An older adult escaped injury in Grays Ferry Friday after two at-large figures accosted him.

The man met with authorities on the 2600 block of Wharton Street after his 10:30 p.m. interaction with two unknown males who yelled something to him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He lost sight of them but noted that moments later, a gray Pontiac Bonneville containing the duo pulled up on the block and drove toward him.

The second offender asked “What’s up, Old Head?” before exiting the front passenger seat and pulling out a silver gun. After two shots missed, the complainant ran away, with the car heading eastbound on Wharton Street.

He described both as black, with the first being 19 or 20 years old; having a dark complexion and a thin build; being clean-shaven; and wearing a black hoodie; and the second as having a medium brown complexion and a thin build; being clean-shaven; wearing a blue hoodie; and toting a firearm.
