A hole in his plan

A male left minus any money in an attempted robbery of a Hawthorne store.

At 2 a.m. May 21, the figure entered Dunkin’ Donuts, 809 S. Broad St., and stated “Don’t press any buttons” in approaching the counter. An employee said she could not open the register, leading him to say he had a gun.

He attempted to open the holder yet failed, fleeing east on Christian Street. He left without any cash and inflicted no injuries.
