Rising Voices 2 Opening Reception- from 5-8 p.m. at Studio Incamminati on the 7th floor of the Bok Building, 1901 S. 9th St., over 40 realist paintings by some of the nation’s most promising women artists.
The exhibition features the finalists for the 2021 Bennett Prize, a major national competition for women realist painters, and a solo exhibition of the work of Aneka Ingold, winner of the 2019 Bennett Prize.
One of the nation’s top ateliers for contemporary realist painting, the acclaimed faculty of Studio Incamminati teach the skills that unlock figurative realist art’s unparalleled capacity to tell stories and to address the human condition in all its complexity.
This free exhibition presents a special opportunity for the young women of Philadelphia to take inspiration from a cast of talented female role models. The exhibition will be on view at Studio Incamminati, free of charge, through May 14.

Freedom Seder Revisited – At 6 p.m. at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, 101 S. Independence Hall. In place of the traditional retelling of the Exodus narrative, the Museum hosts an interpretative seder, with storytellers sharing what freedom means to them through personal reflections, stories and performance. Food, conversation and celebration. Tickets are $36 and $25 for members.

Black Founders Women’s History Night with Dr. Kerri Greenidge – From 5:15-8 p.m. at the Museum of the American Revolution, join Dr. Kerri K. Greenidge, author of The Grimkes: The Legacy of Slavery in an American Family and assistant professor at Tufts University, onsite or online for an evening discussion hosted by Museum Director of Education and Community Engagement Adrienne G. Whaley. Celebrating women’s history and discoveries in genealogical research with a focus on abolitionism, suffrage and education, learn how women in the three generations of the Forten, Grimke and Douglass families connect the Revolutionary era to present day. Tickets to this event are pay-as-you-wish and include a hands-on stitching activity inspired by the “Anti-Slavery Alphabet,” food and drink specials in Cross Keys Café and access to the Museum’s new Black Founders: The Forten Family of Philadelphia special exhibition. Easter Family Day at ASHM – From 2-4 p.m. at the American Swedish Historical Museum at 1500 Pattison Ave., introduce your little ones to Swedish Easter traditions. Children can make Swedish Easter crafts, dress up as Easter witches, enjoy face painting and participate in an egg hunt. Free for members and children 2 years and under, $10 for non-members. Pay at the door.

Spring Cleanup – from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Stephen Girard Park, meet at the farmhouse by the welcome table. Community service letters to all who need hours. Weed and refresh the Entrance Gardens, bag leaves, gather branches, plant bulbs, pick up trash and lots more. Refreshments will be on hand for extra energy.

Easter in the Park – From 1-3 p.m. at Stephen Girard Park, hosted by the Girard Estate Neighbors Association, an Easter egg hunt, music and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Sandy Sprint Philadelphia 5K Run/Walk – at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the event will include the 5K Run/Walk, a Survivor Ceremony and live performances. All participants must pre-register. Registration fees are $40 for adults and $30 for children under 12. The Sandy Sprint supports women currently battling ovarian cancer, honors those who are survivors, and raises funds to prevent future diagnoses.

Rita Rudner at Live! – Comedian, actor and best-selling author Rita Rudner is making her debut at the Event Center at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia. Rudner is known for her hilarious and epigrammatic one-liners. She’s won Las Vegas’ Comedian of the Year nine years in a row and received the Casino Entertainment Legend Award in October 2017.

SPHS Class of ‘63 Reunion – The South Philadelphia High School Class of 1963 (January-June) will hold its 60th reunion from 1-4 p.m. at Adelphia Restaurant, 1750 Clements Bridge Road, Deptford, New Jersey. Tickets are $60 and include a buffet luncheon with a cash bar.
