Crayfish Dinner Party – At 6:30 p.m. at the Swedish American Historical Museum, enjoy a buffet of crayfish and Swedish meatballs, along with crisp bread, cheese, potatoes, cheese pie and a glass of akvavit, all outside under the decorated ASHM tent. $50 for ASHM and SACC Philadelphia members and $60 for non-members.

UFC Fighting at Sports & Social – At 10 p.m. at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadephia, watch UFC star Aljamain Sterling take on Sean O’Malley on Sport & Social’s 52-foot LED display. Twilight in the Gardens – from 7-10 p.m. at Magic Gardens, 1020 South St. A live musical performance by Rego and guided art workshop by Jihan Thomas. Every month features a different genre of music and new teaching artist who helps guests create a work of art to take home.

Stars of ‘Below Deck’ – At 8 p.m., join reality stars from the hit Bravo show “Below Deck,” as they discuss life on and off the sea at The Event Center at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia. Tickets ($55), along with meet and greet upgrades, are available at Philadelphia.livecasinohotel.com or AXS.com.

This special evening will feature “The Stud of the Sea” Captain Lee Rosbach alongside his co-stars Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain and Chef Ben Robinson. The trio will give the audience an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the hit series, dish about hilarious guest interactions and take pre-submitted questions from the audience.

August 26

Back to Drool – From 1-4 p.m. at Attic Brewing Company, 137 Berkley St., hosted by Attic Brewing and the Young Friends of PAWS. A dog-friendly event. A portion of the proceeds from Attic Brewing’s hazy pale ale Bad Nina will be donated to PAWS. There will be beer and a chance to meet new people (and new dogs) who are passionate about animals. This event is free to enter. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

Back to School supply giveaway – From 2-6 p.m. at the Mount Hebron Baptist Church at 1419 Wharton St., free school supplies, book bags, food and entertainment.

August 27

St. Paul Parish Breakfast – From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary Hall, St. Paul Parish Parish will host a Parish Breakfast to celebrate the feasts of St. Monica and St. Augustine. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets can be purchased after Mass or at the rectory. 215-922-0355.

October 11

Garden Party Happy Hour – From 5-8 p.m. at Magic Gardens, 1020 South St., enjoy a happy hour and crafting event in the colorful mosaicked wonderland. All drinks are included with admission, so guests can enjoy a cold beer, wine from Chaddsford Winery and beverages by Hochstadter’s Slow & Low Whiskey. Popcorn and pretzels along with treats from Ramona Susan’s Bakeshop will also be offered. After attendees are done making art they can try out the “tile bingo” game and listen to a DJ from BridgeSet Sound on hand to spin vinyl tunes.

Tickets are $25/adults and $16/PMG members, and attendees must be 21 years of age or older. Proceeds from these events help support education and outreach programs. Space is very limited, so guests are encouraged to register as soon as possible via http://phillymagicgardens.org/.

Turkey Tailgate – From noon to 4 p.m. before the Eagles take on the Cowboys. Guests have the chance to experience a tailgate while supporting Dimplez 4 Dayz, a youth-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the youth voice and reducing youth violence in Philadelphia.
