The incident occurred on June 19 in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, specifically on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street.

Suspects & Vehicle Details in Philly Shooting

  • Khalif Duren: 23 years old, described as 5-foot-6 and weighing 195 pounds.
  • Amirah Square: 20 years old, described as 5-foot-3 and weighing between 110 and 115 pounds.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Duren or Square was the shooter or if both fired shots. Surveillance video captured a dark-colored four-door sedan, which was last seen heading eastbound on Somerset Street with yellow tape or plastic securing the trunk.

Seven people, ranging in age from 16 to 46, were struck by gunfire. Fortunately, all victims were taken to area hospitals in stable condition. At least 17 shell casings were found at the scene, indicating the extent of the gunfire.

Police Step Up Patrols After Shooting

In response to the shooting, Chief Inspector Scott Small announced an increased police presence in the area. “We’re going to have additional police in this area because of what happened,” Small said.

He also expressed concern about the potential for more incidents, particularly as warmer weather draws more people outside, increasing the risk of stray gunfire.

A day after the shooting, police sources revealed that a vehicle used by the suspects was recovered. Additionally, one person was brought in for questioning.

It is believed that the shooting may have stemmed from a conflict involving teenagers and their mothers.
