BOCCE LEAGUES

In last Thursday’s women’s games of the South Philadelphia Bocce League, City Pizza defeated Mazza Bros., 12-7; Southern Auto beat City Pizza, 12-0, and PFC, 12-2; and PFC took the win over Mazza Bros., 12-1. In Tuesday’s men’s games, Rudi’s Formal Wear defeated Cacia’s Bakery, 12-10, and Chef’s Market, 12-7; Cacia’s beat Pine Nuts, 12-2; Casa dei Pazzi took the win over Pine Nuts, 12-11; Camilli Chiropractic defeated Casa, 12-5; and Chef’s Market beat Camilli, 12-7. Men’s games are played Tuesdays and women’s games are played Thursdays starting 7:30 p.m. at Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets.

BRINO TIES RECORD

GAMP senior Michael Brino, of the 1700 block of South Newkirk Street, scored 40 points in the Pioneers’ 70-67 loss to Swenson, tying a school record. Brino matched the mark set by 2003 grad Chris Feggans. The 5-foot-11 guard-forward recently became the fourth player in GAMP history to score 1,000 career points. The athlete heads into today’s season finale against Lamberton with 1,073 points. Brino’s achievements are somewhat tempered by his team’s winless season; GAMP’s record is 0-23.

CAPITOLO PLAYGROUND

Womens’ modified softball teams for the 2004 season should call for registration information. The playground, Ninth and Federal streets, is still taking players for the SNBL 11-and-under basketball league. Call 215-685-1883 ext. 3.

DVYAA BASEBALL

The association is accepting registration for its spring baseball programs weeknights, 6-8, and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Barry Playground, 18th and Johnston streets. Age groups are 5-7 (tee-ball), 8-9 (peewee), 10-12 (majors) and 13-15 (seniors). Call 215-468-1265.

JOE FORTUNA BASEBALL/TEE-BALL

Signups are being held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. at Murphy Rec Center, Third and Shunk streets, for the spring baseball and tee-ball league for ages 4-19. SABRES BASEBALL

Registration is being held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. through April at Sixth Street and Packer Avenue. The age divisions are 4-6 (tee-ball), 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15 and 16-19. The cost is $50 for tee-ball and $85 for all other divisions. All teams are welcome. SENATORS BASEBALL

The Philadelphia Senators youth baseball team will sponsor two 12-and-under teams this season. The South Philly-based organization, which plays at Sunoco Field, is seeking 11- and 12-year-olds who want to travel and compete against the best athletes from around the country while playing 80 games this spring and summer. SEYAA BASEBALL/TEE-BALL

Baseball and tee-ball registration is underway. The season will begin April 24. The age divisions are 4-6 (tee-ball), 7-8 (pitching machine), 8-10 and 10-12 (live pitch), and 13-15 and 16-19 (Babe Ruth). The cost is $60 for tee-ball and $70 for all other divisions. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. TEN STAR BASKETBALL CAMP

Applications are being accepted for the Ten Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp, which is by invitation only, is for boys and girls ages 10-19. Past participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter and Grant Hill. College basketball scholarships are available for players named to the All-American team.
