Sports brief: 5-05-05

If the Public League boys’ volleyball playoffs started today, first-place CAPA would host Southern in an opening-round match. The Pegasus, which entered the week with a 10-0 record, wants to return to Community College of Philadelphia on May 26 to defend its Public League crown.

The Furness Falcons, who entered the week in seventh place with a 6-4 record, also are contending for a postseason spot. The Southern Rams hold the eighth and final spot with a 5-5 mark.

The playoffs begin May 20, with the top four teams enjoying home-court advantage. The semifinals will be played May 24 at neutral sites.
