SPORTS DEADLINE
The deadline for sports notices is Monday at noon. Due to space restrictions, all briefs must be limited to 30-50 words. Submissions should be typed or neatly printed, with both a contact number for verification and one for publication. Names should be properly spelled and include both first and last names. Phoned-in items will be rejected. The same brief will not be run for more than three consecutive weeks.

ALL-CITY CLASSIC
The Philly U.S.A. Basketball Program will hold its 11th annual Stay In School Adidas All-City Classic on Saturday, 6 p.m., at the former St. John Neumann High, 26th and Moore streets. The event will feature basketball games between the top freshmen, sophomores and juniors from the Philadelphia Public and Catholic leagues. Sponsors are needed. Call Charles Monroe, 267-228-7369.

BASEBALL CAMP
Penn State Delaware County will hold a baseball camp June 18-23 for ages 11-14. Participants will learn skills, situations and fundamentals. The cost is $150. Call athletic director Joe DiAntonio, 610-892-1331, or e-mail him at Jrd21@psu.edu.

CELEBRITY SOFTBALL
The Children’s World Organization will host a charity celebrity softball event June 11, 1 p.m., at Capitolo Playground, 10th and Wharton streets. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Send donations in a check or money order to Children’s World Organization, PO Box 60493, Philadelphia, PA 19145. GUERIN BASKETBALL CAMP
Guerin Recreation Center, 16th and Jackson streets, will hold a coed basketball camp June 20-24 for ages 10-12. Registration forms can be picked up at Guerin. Call 215-685-1894.

KOPLOVE BACK HOME
South Philadelphia’s Mike Koplove and his Arizona Diamondbacks will open a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies starting tomorrow night at Citizens Bank Park. For the season, the right-handed relief pitcher has appeared in 26 games and has compiled a 2-1 record with a 5.33 ERA.

PETRINI BOWLS 300 GAME
Eighty-year-old Nicholas Petrini bowled a 300 game – also known as a perfect game – at Westbrook Lanes in Brooklawn, N.J., last month. The resident of the 2000 block of South Newkirk Street bowls every week in a senior bowling league. Petrini still works part time as a mailroom clerk at The Philadelphia Inquirer.

ROMAN ICE HOCKEY
The Roman Catholic ice-hockey club is taking registrations for its middle-school program for the fall season. Boys in grades five-eight are eligible to play. Evaluation night for the middle-school team is June 15, 7 p.m., at Flyers Skate Zone, Comly and Decatur roads in the Northeast. A non-refundable $100 registration fee is required to attend. The club also is holding a Wednesday-night spring skate through next week at the facility. A $100 fee is required for the spring skate. SEYAA FALL SOCCER
Registration is being taken for the SEYAA outdoor soccer program, which begins Sept. 10. Age divisions are: 4-6 (tot soccer), 7-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-17. Register Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 at the SEYAA sports complex, Seventh and Bigler streets. All games are played at the complex. SMITH PLAYGROUND SPORTS

SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER
The friends and family of Carmella Jones, a victim of street violence who died in March, will hold a memorial softball and carnival event June 11, starting at noon, at Smith Playground, 24th and Jackson streets. Proceeds will benefit the Carmella Jones scholarship foundation for Philadelphia youth. UYA CAMPS
The Urban Youth Athletic Association is holding open registration for its basketball-skills instruction camp (ages 7-12) and referee-in-training camp (ages 14 and up) on Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 17th and Fitzwater streets.
