A man was robbed of his cell shortly after two teens asked him for the time.
The pair asked a 24-year-old for the time as he was walking north on South 12th Street near Moore Street around 9:27 p.m. Sunday, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He continued to walk, but heard footsteps behind him as one of the teens stepped in front of him, pointed a gun and demanded his phone. He handed it over and the boys walked away south on 12th.
The 24-year-old walked to Moore where he asked an unknown person to call 911, Tolliver said.
The adolescents were described as black, age 16, 5-foot-6. 100 to 150 pounds and had short hair. The gunman was wearing a dark striped T-shirt while his accomplice was walking with a dirt bike.
