A union has posted a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible for shooting one of its members in Grays Ferry.

The Transit Workers Union Local 234 posted the $5,000 reward, John Apeldorn, Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley president, said.

After dropping off her final passengers, the 46-year-old driver parked her Route 79 bus at Vare and Snyder avenues at 11:09 p.m. Sept. 6, according to police. A man approached the vehicle with a gun and demanded she open the doors. Instead, she drove away as he fired twice through the bus’ door wounding her in the right arm.

The shooter was described as black, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, thin and wearing a dark-colored hoody.
