An offender made a Sunday subway travel plan a nightmare for a 23-year-old woman.

She entered the Ellsworth-Federal station of the Broad Street Line at Federal Street at 10:30 p.m., where an unknown offender called her over, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. She screamed, and he pushed her down.

He snagged her iPhone from her sweatshirt pocket, along with her backpack, and fled toward the Federal-Street exit, Tolliver said.

The woman sustained an ankle injury as a result of the incident

The man was described a light complexion as 5-foot-9, 120 pounds, with a thin build and and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
