Police have arrested a Southwest Philly man for allegedly gunning down a Point Breeze resident.

Following an argument, Brandon S. Sylvester-Johns, 24, of the 4800 block of Paschall Avenue, allegedly wounded Ronald Barrett, 58, of the 1400 block of Ellsworth Street, multiple times in his stomach, back and leg at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 on the 1100 block of South 15th Street, Officer Tanya Little of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. Barrett was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m.

Sylvester-Johns was arrested the following day at 5:15 p.m. at Police Headquarters, 750 Race St., police said. It was unclear if he had turned himself in or was brought in for questioning, but subsequently was charged with murder, possession of an instrument of a crime and recklessly endangering another person.
