Police have released surveillance video of the suspect authorities believe is responsible for killing a Whitman man last month.

After combing through area surveillance video, investigators located the murder suspect in Don Ly’s case strolling along the 2700 block of South Randolph Street — about two blocks from the site of the homicide, police said.

Ly, 68, of the 400 block of Vollmer Street, was stabbed multiple times in his neck, torso and right arm at 5:09 a.m. April 18 outside of his home, according to police. He was pronounced dead 22 minutes later at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Ly was headed to his fruit stand he ran since 1995 at the University of Pennsylvania.

The suspect was described as black with a light complexion or Latino, 5-foot-8, thin, having facial hair or a goatee and wearing dark-colored pants, a dark-colored jacket, a black knit hat and black Converse sneakers.
