LOOP on savings

To the Editor:

The City launched a new real estate tax relief program for longtime homeowners in December, called the Longtime Owner Occupants Program or LOOP.  There are eligibility requirements for the program.  The deadline for applications has been extended to Feb. 17.

Our estimates show that South Philadelphia will have a high concentrate of residents who meet all of the eligibility requirements. Though savings differ based on property value, the average LOOP savings is $700.

There is a call center up and running to help citizens with any questions that they may have.  The website has additional information about the program and links to a helpful “Am I eligible?” widget.  And – the hot line, website and widget are offered in additional languages.

For more information, visit phila.gov/LOOP.
