Due to expected inclement weather throughout Monday night and early Tuesday morning, all School District of Philadelphia schools will open tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 12 on a two-hour delay. All schools will open two hours later than their normal time, and all buses will begin their morning routes two hours later than their normal time.

The district asks that parents and caregivers be patient as certain yellow bus routes may experience moderate to significant delays Tuesday morning due to road conditions. Families can also visit the Bus Status Page on the School District website to see if there are additional delays for their child’s bus route.  Schools will release in the afternoon on their normal schedules.

All District-operated early childhood programs will also open on a two-hour delay. After-school activities including athletic programs and professional development sessions set for Tuesday will continue as scheduled.

District administrative offices will open one-hour later than their usual time, allowing for sidewalks and parking lots to be safely treated and cleared.  The district urges everyone to take their time and travel safely getting to school and work on Tuesday.

The general public should monitor the District Web site at www.philasd.org, the District’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/PhillySchools, or our Twitter feed @PHLschools to stay up to date.  Additional information will also be posted on the District’s Information Hotline at 215-400-INFO (4636) if needed.
