Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia officially unveiled its new Live! Event Center as it continues to raise the stakes in entertainment.
The 15,000-square-foot meeting, event and convention space, which is located up the escalators from the gaming floor, can host more than 1,000 people for weddings, parties, banquets, galas and other events.
“We’re trying to keep it lively and exciting and get the Live! brand out there,” said Mario Maesano, the hotel and casino’s senior vice president of marketing.
The Event Center opened on Sept. 30 as the venue’s staff hopes large gatherings will soon become the norm again after a year and a half of social distancing due to the pandemic.
“After opening up during COVID, we really weren’t able to do anything in our event center, so this is really the coming-out party for the whole event center and showcasing what we can do here and how different it is from any other event center in the city,” Maesano said.
Located in the Stadium District of South Philly at 900 Packer Ave., the Live! Hotel and Casino draws a good amount of business from fans of the multiple professional sports teams that call that area home. The Event Center adds a new wrinkle by creating a space for other types of more formal events. It bills itself as a one-stop shop for event entertainment.
“It really is the premier destination for anyone who is looking to book an event because our property as a whole is a destination. You can walk out of here and there are restaurants, the casino floor, entertainment. Everything you need here is under one roof, which is really unique to anything else in the city.”
The Event Center offers groups of all sizes customizable event space, including a 10,000-square-foot main ballroom with an 18-foot-high ceiling, a bar, restaurant serving spaces and a stage for live music. It has two 1,600-square-foot breakout rooms, expansive pre-function options and three executive boardrooms with services and amenities of a luxury hotel and world-class casino.
Options go even further, with rooftop event rentals atop the property’s parking structure, and 208 rooms of luxury hotel rooms. The property also features 11 dining destinations, including the Zagat-rated No.1 steakhouse The Prime Rib, as well as customized catering for all needs.
