New exhibition at Swedish museum

The American Swedish Historical Museum, 1900 Pattison Ave., will present Art for All: The Swedish Experience in Mid-America, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Swedish-American artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, from July 21 to Feb. 19, 2023.

The exhibition’s opening reception will be at 6 p.m. on July 21. ASHM curator Christopher Malone will discuss the artwork and history at this free event, with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. There will be a landscape painting workshop with Fleisher Art Memorial on Sept. 25, led by artist Givoanni Casadei.

A virtual lecture with Cori North will take place on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. North is curator at Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery, in Kansas.
