A Whitman clothing store was robbed Saturday.

A man walked into Dots, 330 W. Oregon Ave., at 8:53 p.m. Nov. 26 and told a 26-year-old sales clerk that his wife had left a bag at the store, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The woman went behind the counter, but there were not any bags being held for anyone. The man put his hand in his pocket and said, “this is a stickup” and demanded $10s and $20s from both cash registers.

As the employee gathered the cash, the man said, “hurry up or I’ll blow your … brains out right here,” Tolliver said. She handed him $800 and he fled through the parking lot and west on Oregon.

The thief was described as white, in his early 30s, 5-foot-10 to 6 foot, 175 pounds, medium build, clean shaven and wearing a dark blue jacket with a gray hoody underneath, baggy blue jeans and a dark blue cap.
