Local murdered in North Philly

A Point Breeze woman was stabbed to death inside an Allegheny apartment.

Police were called to 3500 block of Scotts Lane at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 12 for a stabbing and located 49-year-old Vera Skinner, of the 1300 block of South Bancroft Street, in the back doorway of a first-floor residence with multiple stab wounds to her neck and body, Officer Christine O’Brien of the Police Public Affairs Unit said.

She was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead 33 minutes later, O’Brien said.

There was no suspect or motive as of press time.
