No parking

It’s game day, and you see a nice, free spot on the south side of Oregon Avenue, between 10th and 11th streets, thinking it’ll be a great way to save $20. Better think twice before parking in any residential area. When the Philadelphia Eagles are playing, there is absolutely no free street parking in the sports district area. If you do park there, don’t expect to see your car after the game, as all vehicles illegally parked will be ticketed and towed.

Parking stickers are required for entrance into the neighborhoods north of Hartranft Street and south of Packer Avenue. The Philadelphia Parking Authority administers a permit program for the area east of Broad Street and north of Packer Avenue.

All 22,000 spots in the sports complex are now part of an alphabetical lot lettering system (see map below). The map also shows that certain lots have been reserved for tailgating (lots A through P).

"The alphabetical lot lettering promotes more efficient arrival and departure patterns which in turn helps the adjacent communities by reducing associated traffic congestion in the area," said Shawn Jalosinski, Executive Director of the Sports Complex Special Services District. "What’s good for the fans is equally good for adjacent residents, and that is getting vehicles in out of the complex as efficiently as possible."

Punt, Pass & Kick at Capitola The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick competition for boys and girls ages 8-15 is coming to Capitola Playground, 10th and Wharton streets, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. The Philadelphia Department of Recreation will host the event, which gives young Philadelphia Eagles fans an opportunity to exhibit their football skills, at seven Philadelphia County recreation centers between Sept. 12 and Sept. 23.

Established in 1961, the PP&K program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program.

Each participant will receive one pass, one punt and one kick, with the scores based on distance and accuracy.

The top finisher from each age division will qualify for next month’s sectional competition. The top five first-place scorers in each age group from the pool of sectional competition champions will advance to the Nov. 27 team championship at Lincoln Financial Field during the Eagles-Packers game.

Competitors must finish first in the sectional round to be considered for the team championship.

Plaques will be awarded to the top three finalists in each age group.
